To use the binding machine, first select your desired binding style - either left or right binding for documents, or top, side, or wire bound for notebooks. Match the corresponding margin and hole punch pattern on the knob. Then load paper or notebooks into the binding machine, aligning the edges and centering using the built-in guides. Press firmly on the handle to punch 19 oval-shaped holes.

For document binding, next take your 19-ring comb binder spine and attach loose pages by snapping into place over the rings. Give the comb a final squeeze with your fingers to securely bind all materials. For notebook binding, attach the notebook covers and pages onto the binding elements - wire, plastic or metal rings. Place onto the posts of the binding machine and bend the elements to lock in place.
